Compare the Taggies Crinkle Me Buttercup Cow and Original Dino to find the best sensory toy for your baby's tactile development and calming moments.
Quick Answer
Choose the Taggies Crinkle Me Buttercup Cow for a compact, on-the-go sensory toy, or the Taggies Original Dino for a larger, award-winning comfort blanket that offers more surface area for tactile exploration.
Size and Portability
The Buttercup Cow is a 6×6-inch crinkle book, making it easy to toss in a diaper bag or attach to a stroller. Its small size is perfect for little hands to grasp and explore independently.
The Original Dino, at 12×12 inches, offers a larger play surface. This makes it better for tummy time or as a cozy comfort blanket, providing more fabric for your baby to rub and snuggle.
Award-Winning Recognition
The Original Dino has earned the 2023 Product of the Year award from Baby Maternity Magazine in the Baby Comfy category. This recognition highlights its trusted design and effectiveness in comforting babies.
While the Buttercup Cow doesn't carry a formal award, it shares the same Taggies heritage of satin-tag exploration that has captivated babies for over a decade.
Trade-Offs to Consider
- Portability vs. Surface Area: If you need a toy that travels easily, the 6×6 Buttercup Cow wins. If you want a blanket-like toy for home use, the 12×12 Dino provides more to explore. Think about where the toy will be used most.
- Award Recognition vs. Price: The Dino has an award and a higher price, while the Cow is more budget-friendly. Both offer the signature Taggies satin-tag experience. Consider whether the award matters to you.
- Crinkle vs. Classic Taggies: The Cow adds crinkle sounds for extra sensory input, while the Dino focuses on the classic satin-tag rubbing that Taggies is known for. Decide if your baby responds more to sound or texture.
